Hello There

I’m passionate about encouraging the church and equipping its leaders so that the world can encounter Jesus in a personal way.

COMMUNICATOR. Ever since I walked into a church at the age 15 and saw a passionate woman on stage preaching, I instantly knew that is what I would end up doing with my life. I’ve been pastoring, leading, and communicating for the purpose of building up the church locally and globally ever since. I will be speaking (or writing) the truth, in love, with hope until the day I meet Jesus.

EMOTIONAL HEALTH EDUCATOR. I’m passionate about both spiritual health and emotional health so I pursued a Masters in Mental Health Counseling. While I no longer sit in the counseling chair myself, I use my knowledge base to teach individuals and teams how to become emotionally healthy so that they can thrive in their spirituality, relationships and leadership calling.

LEADERSHIP MENTOR. Throughout ministry life, I have had the privilege of sitting at many leadership tables and rooms. Sadly, I often find myself one of the few, and sometimes the only, woman in the room. I believe wholeheartedly both men and women benefit from a woman’s voice being present - whether that is preaching on the platform or leading in the conference room. This fuels me to not just preach and lead myself, but also to find ways to equip and empower the next generation of female pastors and leaders through mentoring and coaching opportunities.

CHURCH PLANTER. My husband and I spent our early ministry years pastoring in the NorthWest of England. Knowing we would one day church plant, we moved our lives 5,000 miles to So Cal to be a part of a planting team until we discerned a call to move to New York City and start a brand new church. Without a planting team and knowing very few people in the city, we packed up a trailer on the back of our SUV and moved to Queens in NYC to start a brand new church expression in one of the most diverse contexts in the world. God was faithful to us and we had the opportunity to see, what is today called Wellspring Church, start in our apartment and grow in size and influence into an established church.

LOCAL CHURCH PASTOR. Currently, my husband Jake and I serve as lead pastors at Hope Chapel - a diverse church across four locations in the Kansas City Metro. I also lead Kindreds - a movement of women that believes there is more beauty in sameness than division in difference which gathers in the Kansas City area. Whether I’m preaching in my local church or elsewhere - I am passionate about using the voice God has given me to encourage the church and equip its leaders so that the whole world can encounter Jesus in a personal way.

Of course, one of the great joys of my life is that two incredible kids call me mom and I get to practice what I preach at home. I’m married to an incredible man, Jacob, and I’m so thankful I get to do both parenting and ministry together with him. These three enrich my life in every way.
